New housemaster. The emergence of Pau Roca is great news for Barcelona’s house scene, and by extension, the national scene. Surprisingly cultivated for his age, the Catalan (who sometimes uses the name Paul Stone) is a DJ from head to toe: technically gifted, with knowledge of and argument for the house scene, he has an instinct for music that has yet to surface and an eye firmly on the dance floor. Programmer and resident at BeCool (one of the key nightspots setting the standards in Barcelona), Pau Roca has just begun a new adventure as front man for label Bons Records, entirely devoted to disco, funk and house with very limited vinyl editions. His output also includes edits and remixes; in fact Pau Roca does everything and does it well.
