Meet the magnificent work of a Colorado’s musician who formed in 2009 Pretty Lights. His first steps into music was writing hip-hop music while studying. In 2011, Derek Vincent Smith unveils an audiovisual artistic manifesto with the new lightning of Pretty Lights’ show and LED towers that look like a cityscape. It is a phenomenon through each live appearance and the free distribution policy. The mix of musical styles in his music is necessary in any great party today. With the album “A Color Map of the Sun" (2013) Pretty Lights comes to Barcelona with the novelty of not having use digital-borrowed samples, for this oeuvre Smith has recorded in studio with musicians, then combined all with modular synthesizers in Brooklyn, New Orleans and Denver. He released the vinyl version and digital free album at the same time. Now is the turn for the live session and high impact audiovisual show. Smith considers his music as "Electro Hip-Hop Soul," a mix of elements of electronic music, hip-hop beats and soul music.
