With new rules and safety measures in place, it was smoother sailing for Ultra's 17th iteration. About 150,000 ravers took in the festival at Bayfront Park, and police and fire rescue workers reported fewer arrests and incidents than last year. A cold front brought rain showers Friday night, closing several stages temporarily and leaving a handful of acts, including Chromeo, out to dry. But Avicii made his Ultra return and dubstepper Skrillex closed Sunday night with surprise appearances by Justin Bieber and Diddy. Pop stars Ariana Grande and Usher also had cameo performances throughout the weekend, showing EDM's mainstream impact.
